A thing in common to all digital presentations of Serbia at the international book fairs in 2020 is an aspiration to connect cultural history of Serbia and Serbs with the contemporary Serbian literature and culture, science and art. The primary goal, naturally, is to present the latest works and Serbian publishing activity. For this occasion, we have chosen a small part of the literary production, which is actually large-scale and of great regional and European importance. We considered the length of the presentation as well as the features of the encounter with the publishers and culture of the host country. At the beginning of the 21 st century, Serbian literature has developed the richest heritage of modernity and tradition and is looking for the successors of the most renowned Serbian writers which marked the 20 th century. Our presentations, created with the greatest effort under changed circumstances this year, shape a platform for the culture of differences and cooperation, equal representation of national minorities, Serbian corpus outside Serbia and equal status of all books and publishers. The University Library, as a part of the University of Belgrade, has given a humble academic character to the whole presentation. The University Library’s project for this presentation was selected and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia and it is carried out in extremely challenging conditions with an effort to maintain continuity of our presence at the most important book fairs, to inform foreign publishers and translators about the classical works that were translated earlier, about current production, about the works of particular interest and about the publishers who have most cooperated with the publishers from the host country.

We would like to thank you for your interest and to invite you to have a look at this presentation and contact us for more information and suggestions. We will together find the works which should be translated and published in your collections.
